Friday Digital Roundup

The Friday Digital Roundup is a witty take on the weird world of the internet. With fun stories from around the globe, it’s the only email newsletter you’ll actually read and enjoy!

We do love writing it, but clearly not as much as people like receiving it - just look at the response we got when a technical hitch meant it wasn’t sent out on time!

Coffee and the FDR is how I start my Friday.
Do not engage until I have devoured both

Meschi Consultants @MeschiConsult

When it comes to the end of the week, there is no better way to start a Friday than with a run around the internet with Todd and Jo in the FDR. Just don't let them know I do it from the loo!

Transactional Content: the Missing Piece of your Content Marketing Puzzle?

Wed 19th Mar 2025

Content Marketing, SEO

Creating content for your business – and website – is key to online marketing success. You probably know that.

But your time is important too. It’s a finite resource and creating content takes time; whether that’s your or your team’s.

Sure, there’s AI, tools, and lots of hacks to save time or make the most of it. You’re most likely doing those things.

But what if your content could do more when it was complete? That would sure make the most of the time – by maximising the results!

Transactional Content: the Missing Piece of your Content Marketing Puzzle?

We like creating ‘transactional content’. Transactional Content doesn’t just help SEO, social, email, and the rest of your online marketing, it also serves as really great content for the transactional, conversational, and converting actions in your business.

Here’s what we mean…

Things you constantly say or share

I bet there are things you constantly say or share to your prospects, customers, or networking connections.

I bet you’re constantly share the same emails, anecdotes, PDFs, videos even with people. Right?

This content could be turned into a blog and then you can share a link – even automated in a process – and saves time!

Processes you know are important to customers

Ideas or stories that help to highlight key points you make in marketing or sales.

Content that you can link to from proposals, emails, or other content like blogs that keeps your main content short and concise but allows further reading.

Content for your onboarding emails or sales funnel

When you sell to or onboard people you’re probably very similar to us in today you follow a proven process.

You’ll share and say the same things. You’ll have ideas, concepts, processes, stories and other things that help you onboard or sell.

These are transactional pieces of content! You should create them and upload them to your blog.

Answering common questions like FAQs

These are PRIMED for Transactional Content. You’ve most likely already got them on your website or documents.

Extrapolate them out. Go into more detail. Optimise them for SEO. And boom – Transactional Content win!

And now… you should put this content into action

Add the content – or links to it – to your processes.

Host it on your blog (for SEO) and then use that content to support marketing, sales, and other processes in your business or company.

Win, win.

The reason we love this is (if you do it right) you’re already sharing this content. You’re already answering those questions. You’re already spending time helping people get you or understand a process or offer you have.

Why not create some content that supports your SEO, social, and email and then use it over and over again?

Over time, that content (if you host it on your blog) will drive some good evergreen traffic, too.

Next steps (here’s your homework)

  1. Start collecting the FAQs, processes, stories, processes, and ideas for your Transactional Content.
  1. Add them to a list.
  1. Create one post at a time and add to your blog.
  1. Link them into your processes.

Want more ideas? Drop us a message. We have a load of them.

We also have these posts you might find interesting for further reading.

Oh… by the way… this post is part of our process too. It’s linked to our content package to explain one of the many benefits of creating consistent content on your website.

Cool, huh!?
